In the epicentre of London’s theatre district, Murakami’s Christmas set menu offering is awash with influences, albeit holding Japanese gastronomy at its core.

Act 1 opens with the unenviable choice between salmon starters, namely a Salmon Tartare Caviar or a Gravadlax Roll with Salmon marinated in Beetroot Juice, with dill and cream cheese. Perhaps a destination to avoid for the indecisive.

Act 2 offers another difficult yet equally enticing pair of options: Grilled Scallop with Cassava Coconut Puree; and Beef Fillet with Button Mushrooms, Asparagus and mashed potato with truffle. The assortment of Japanese flavours dessert (matcha and blueberry cheesecake, mochi) for dessert perfectly rounds up proceedings, and at £30 you’ll be crying for an encore.
